Every pre-season Top 25 team won with the exception of Boise State and Michigan (who were the only Top 25 teams to play another Top 25 team). And, every Top 25 team that won was either at home or a neutral site with the exception of OU playing at UTEP. And, 14 of those 23 wins came over mid-level FBS or FCS teams. Those top teams know how to book the early season to give them the best chance to get the bugs worked out.
Was anyone really surprised that 'Bama put the hammer down on Michigan? I wasn't. 'Bama looked re-loaded and ready. The Big 10 just ain't what it used it be...or what it thinks it is. (Although the Big 10 does own the all-time record vs SEC teams... something like 95 - 78). Note that I did not include Michigan in my Top 10 picks.

Do they look better than the Oregon offense? |
Oregon's offensive execution was downright astonishing for a first game. Everything just seemed to click into place. No first game jitters or goofs. They looked almost as good as the Oregon cheerleaders. They will be ready to give USC a heckuva conference battle.

Many of the scores of the Top 25 teams looked like they were all trying to outdo each other. I tire easily of high scoring just for show. I've got no problem with a high scoring close game but when I see 51-9, 56-10, 69-3, even 69-34, and then 84-0 (OK State over FCS Savannah State)...I just cringe. Really? Do you think anyone is impressed with that? Did you have fun bullying the quiet nerd when he dared come down your street? Karma...it's real.
